Our Classroom

Our classroom is a safe and happy place where we come to learn each day. We all take responsibility for looking after our learning environment and work together to keep it clean and tidy.

We have a different job each week in order to help our days run smoothly. Some jobs we have to remember to do all the time though... We always do our best to stick to our 'class norms'.

In 2NTS, we try our best to be 'bucket fillers'. We work hard to support and encourage one another so we can fill our classroom with smiles. When we fill someone's bucket, we feel proud and get to move our face up our Learning Ladder. We feel sad though when people are bucket dippers and need to move their face down. We showcase our work around our classroom... Make sure you check it out sometime!

We love to celebrate one another's successes and believe that goal setting is a wonderful way to show our progress in different areas. We also love to simply celebrate one another... After all, we are pretty wonderful!

We use our Learning Intentions, Traffic Lights and Thinking Thumbs to monitor and evaluate our own learning. 

Our Literacy Wall is a very useful tool within our classroom. We use the CAFE model to our Guided Reading sessions, learning different reading strategies that help us become more confident readers. We regularly refer to our adjectives and adverbs word wall to help improve our writing, taking our sentences from ordinary to extraordinary!

Home readers are brought in EACH MORNING so the books can be swapped and we can take home a new reader each afternoon.
Homework is due ON MONDAYS and sent home again the following Tuesday.
Library bags are brought each THURSDAY - we love library!
